Having trouble finding Arabic-language content on Netflix?
Search by Audio or Subtitle Language
1) Select “Browse by Languages” in the Netflix home page header
2) Select “Arabic” as the preferred language
Note that Netflix has the option to select among content originally created in Arabic, dubbed in Arabic, or subtitled in Arabic
Temporarily Change the Account Language
Don’t have an option for Arabic subtitles? Try changing your account language.
Netflix provides subtitles in 5-7 languages which are recommended based on your region and viewing history. If Arabic subtitles aren’t available, temporarily changing your account to Arabic can fix this issue.
1) Go to Account
2) Select a profile
3) Select Language
4) Select a Display Language
3) Click “save”
Note: Make sure you know enough of the language to switch back afterwards! Arabic subtitles should now be available.
Search by Secret Code
We recently learned this Secret Codes tip from Arabic for Nerds. Everything on Netflix is categorised by specific codes, which can be used to find comprehensive lists of shows or movies. Simply access Netflix from a browser (these won’t work from the app) using the url: https://netflix.com/browse/genre/#####
In place of the #####, put the secret code. Here are a few:
1) Arabic Language Movies
Code: 61145
http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/61145
2) Critically-Acclaimed Arabic-Language Movies
Code: 63739
http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/63739
3) Arabic Language Documentaries
Code: 59386
