Parts of the Body

Parts of the body vocabulary is something we learn early in languages we have been speaking since childhood, but can be easily overlooked when studying a language as an adult. Personally, I went years knowing how to say only a few body parts in Levantine Arabic. It wasn’t until I was telling a story to a friend recently and realized I did not know the Levantine Arabic word for knee that I decided it was time to hit the books. I’ve pulled together what I learned to create a resource that will hopefully be useful for others too.

Below, are two vocabulary lists covering parts of the body in Levantine Arabic. The first list is relatively basic so it’s best for people in the beginning stages of learning the language or anyone who wants a quick overview. The second list is more comprehensive, including terms like navel, heel, and elbow.
